Research Committees

TCNH members are committed to the protection of human and animal subjects involved in education and research.

Each site has an established oversight committee to ensure the scientific merit, feasibility and assure the integrity of the research.

To have a study added to the agenda please submit your protocol and budget at least 4 weeks in advance to the appropriate committee.

Toronto Centre for Neonatal Health

The TCNH research committee meets on a quarterly basis.

All research projects must be approved by the Neonatal Research Committee and the Research Executive Committee at the Women and Babies Program before going to the REB at SHSC.

The Sunnybrook NICU Research Committee meets the third Wednesday of each month.

The Hospital for Sick Children

The Hospital for Sick Children Neonatal Clinical Research Committee meets the third Thursday of each month from 1:30 – 2:30 pm. 

To have your study added to the NCRC agenda send the following to rosanna.yankanah@sickkids.ca:

1. Protocol
2. Budget
3. Completed NCRC form
4. 3-5 slides for presentation

Once all of the required documents have been received, we will determine whether your study will undergo a science and/or a feasibility review and you will be contacted with the meeting details.  A member from your study team (ideally the PI) will need to attend the NCRC meeting to present the study to the committee (approx. 10 minutes) and answer any questions.
